Body Language

What is Your Body Saying?

Many of us think that “body language” is about how someone sits or stands. That is true, yet our body can tell us (and others) so much about our health – if we know how to listen to our body. This issue will look at our face and sleep patterns.

Get a mirror and let’s start with our faces. Pull back your hair and let’s examine the key parts of your face. This is in no way a diagnosis or prescription – just insight.

·        Eyes
Dark circles under our eyes often reflect allergies. The most common allergies are wheat, eggs, dairy, soy and peanuts.
Puffiness around the eyes often reflects fluid retention or edema. Supporting the body’s ability to reduce inflammation is helpful (MaxGXL ) as is increasing your pure water consumption (Water filter).
Lines between the eyebrows often reflects stressed liver function which indicates a need for more glutathione (MaxGXL). Increased consumption of green foods and super green drinks can also help (Barleans Greens).

·        Cheeks
Redness in the cheeks is often due stress on the lungs and/or a fatty acid deficiency. To support the lung be sure to do deep breathing exercises. To support the skin quality of the face, increase intake of Omega 3s through fish, flax oil and fish oil ((Barleans Swirl).

·        Mouth
Small, tight lipsoften indicate poor digestion, which can also impact many other symptoms. The Enzyme Questionnaire can help you learn how to support your digestion through digestive enzymes. (Enzyme Evaluation) Raw juices (the greener the better) can also help.
Dry lipsoften indicate dehydration, so increase your water intake (Water Filter).

·        Chin
Pimples often show up in the chin area. Here are some tips for recognizing the contribution to pimples.
-          Red pimples reflect eating too much sugar
-          White/yellow pimples reflect consuming too many fats and oils (especially refined oils)
-          Dark patches/pimples reflect over-consumption of wheat

·        Tongue
A dark red tongue often relates to poor circulation, inflammation and possible heavy metal toxicity. Glutathione can help with the later two (MaxGXL) and increased exercise can help with circulation - - especially the use of rebounders (small trampolines).
A swollen tongue can reflect thyroid stress (as can thinning eyebrows, towards the end of the eyebrow). To support the thyroid, increase natural iodine intake through green powders and foods. (Barleans Greens)

Sleep Guidelines
In addition to these simple guidelines from your face, you can also consider your sleep patterns. I was truly surprised in the beginning of my clinical career to discover the enormous number of sleep issues.
Ø      Can’t go to sleep and can’t up in the morning - - support your liver through green drinks, glutathione, forgiveness and a cleaner diet. (Barleans Greens, Max GXL)

Ø      Can’t go to sleep but feel ok in the morning - - support the heart through increased minerals (Max NFuze) and exercise.

Ø      Can go to sleep but can’t get up in the morning- - support your adrenals through increased protein (Protein Smoothie) and minerals (Max NFuze)

Your body has a lot to say – learn to listen and respond. Your body will pay you back many times over!
