Have you been told you have high cholesterol?
A few years ago, mine was high for the first time. At the time, I had a higher-fat diet from an organic, grass-fed source. Having been studying cholesterol with my high-fat diet, I knew what to do next.
I asked my MD for a ‘particle size test’ to determine the type of cholesterol. Instead, he recommended another test and agreed I had the best cholesterol if the score was good.
I said, “Let’s do it!”
What test did I take to determine my cholesterol?
He recommended a ‘Total Coronary Calcium’ test. If I scored ‘0’, I had great cholesterol. Most people don’t know that the size of cholesterol matters. Without a ‘Total Coronary Calcium’ test, you don’t know the size of your cholesterol. Medications are then the next solution.
I was excited to take the test and find out my results! A few days later…DRUMROLL!!
My score was perfect at 0!
Without you or your MD knowing that information, my score would have caused my doctor to encourage me to go on statins.
What people don’t realize is the critical role that cholesterol plays in the body:
- The brain and spinal cord are protected by a myelin sheath mostly made of cholesterol.
- The fat in the brain is mainly made of cholesterol.
- Most of your hormones are made from cholesterol.
- Since the start of statins, dementia has soared.
