Did you know caramel corn became America’s favorite treat in 1893 at the Chicago World’s Fair? Over the years, that simple favorite got tarnished and compromised with toxic ingredients.
Today’s store versions hide all kinds of toxins without any improvement in flavor:
- High-fructose corn syrup
- Artificial colors
- Hydrogenated oils
- Inflammatory seed oils
Those ingredients compromise our energy, immune system, and spike blood sugar—the opposite of the gift of health!
The good news?
We’ve been making healthier caramel corn for over 35 years with organic popcorn, real butter, organic maple syrup, a touch of organic brown sugar, and real vanilla. And best of all, we’ve learned to keep it easy and fun to make.
In the attached video, I give you step-by-step directions (and the recipe) on how I made it this year. I made nine double batches (a double batch fits in my pan) for nearly 200 gifts, packaged in bags or tins.
Check out the packaging options and displays. Yes, caramel corn and sugar scrubs are part of my Christmas decorating. I love how it looks and knowing we will be blessing a whole lot of people! Enjoy making some for you and for giving!
