I can’t even remember the last time I had a headache. Recently, ‘out of the blue’ one hit that was just intense. I was shocked, as I don’t get headaches.

Most people reach for Advil, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen. We don’t use those products, so they are not in our house. They significantly impact the liver, so they aren’t my choice.

I knew what to do naturally – – some Vagus Nerve resets, breathing drills, essential oils, etc.

The bigger thing I know to be true is looking for the ‘root’ of the problem. The headache was a symptom of something else, and it wasn’t ‘out of the blue.’

I pondered, and sure enough, it became apparent what the contributor was…

I had some dental work done about 6-8 weeks ago. Everything seemed fine at first until my mouth adjusted. Shortly after the dental work, I noticed more food caught between my teeth where I had the work done. I started chewing on the opposite side – compensating for the food caught in my teeth.

Several weeks went by, and the headache started. Fast and intense one day. Unfortunately, it was Wednesday, the day we had our calls. I was so thankful we could adjust, and Forest shared his Carnivore Experiment on our Weekly Q&A calls. Forest, Lanee, and Kyle also taught EASY that day so I could allow myself to rest.

As I took time to rest and release pressure, I started seeing more of the pattern. Eating certain foods (homemade jerky and steak) seemed to cause more of a problem.

I called our dentist (the best dentist in Colorado Springs ~ Dr. Sheila Hartle) and got an appointment the next morning.

Sure enough, a space in my teeth had opened up, and I was collecting food even with all I was doing (brushing, flossing, etc.). She cleaned out the space and made adjustments to my teeth. She also gave me a few more tips to help keep it clean. With her fantastic work, it solved the problem!

Since I had my mouth open for over 20 minutes while she addressed the issue, I knew that would impact my Cranial Nerve 5 (Trigeminal Nerve). After the appointment, I immediately reset that nerve (tapping or rubbing on both sides of my jawbone three times, then on the cheekbone three times, and repeating three times). That relaxed my jaw.

I also had an appointment with a brilliant PT who does far more than most PTs! She also did the rest of the alignment for me. This solved the headache and got me to the root cause!

You might get a headache, and a dental contributor might not be your issue like mine. What else could you look at?

  • Dehydration is the most common cause of headaches. Get hydrated regularly.
  • Lack of sleep. Regular 8-9 hours of sleep, uninterrupted regularly, is key. If you are in our EASY program, you know the L.Reuteri bacteria in yogurt is very helpful for sleep. Here is a video with the instructions on how to make it!
  • Screen time. If you are on screens a lot, practice the eye drills we teach in EASY and wear blue blocker glasses (daytime during the day and darker ones for evening).
  • Caffeine, alcohol, or smoking. Consider stepping away!
  • Stress! Look for EASY ways to destress your lifestyle.

One of the many critical LIFE SKILLS we teach in EASY is to NOTICE. Learning how to interpret and know the next most useful step to take.

I’m so thankful I have that life skill! The headache is gone, and the chief contributor is recognized and addressed. It is the EASY way!
